Method
- Preheat oven to 450 degrees F. Remove pizza dough from freezer and let sit at room temperature for 30 minutes before shaping.
- Use the 1-inch heart cookie cutter flipped upside down to punch out heart shapes from pepperoni slices for the cleanest cuts.
- Dust countertop with flour. Place room temperature dough on surface and use the 4-inch heart cookie cutter to cut out pizza bases. One crust yields about 5 mini pizzas. If dough springs back, rest 5 more minutes and try again.
- Place dough hearts on pizza stone or pan. Spoon 1 tablespoon of sauce onto each and spread to edges. Top with mozzarella and heart-shaped pepperoni.
- Bake for 5 to 7 minutes until crust is golden and crispy and cheese is just beginning to bubble and brown at the edges. Cool for 1 minute before serving.
Notes
Make sure dough is fully at room temperature before cutting or it will tear and spring back. Watch closely during baking as small pizzas cook fast. To freeze: wrap individually in plastic wrap and store in an airtight container for up to 2 months. Reheat at 450 degrees F on a pan until heated through and cheese is melted. Do not use microwave as it softens the crust.
