Ingredients

  • 4 boneless salmon fillets similar size recommended for even baking
  • 2 tbsp unsalted butter melted
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • 2 tbsp honey
  • 0.5 tsp dried parsley or 2 teaspoons fresh parsley, finely chopped
  • 0.25 tsp salt
  • 0.25 tsp black pepper
  • 1 pinch paprika
  • 1 lemon sliced into half-moons

Equipment

  • Oven
  • Baking tray
  • Foil or Silicone Mat
  • Small mixing bowl
  • Meat thermometer

Method

  1. Preheat the oven to 400 degrees F. Line a baking tray with foil or a silicone mat.
  2. Arrange the salmon fillets skin-side down on the prepared tray with a small gap between each fillet.
  3. In a small bowl, mix together the melted butter, minced garlic, honey, parsley, salt, pepper, and paprika until fully combined.
  4. Pour the honey garlic butter glaze over the salmon fillets. Arrange lemon slices on and around the salmon.
  5. Bake for 8 minutes.
  6. Open the oven and spoon the pooled glaze back over each fillet. Bake for an additional 4 to 7 minutes until the salmon flakes easily with a fork and reaches 145 degrees F at the thickest part. Watch closely in the final minutes -- the glaze caramelizes quickly.
  7. Remove from the oven and serve immediately.

Notes

Always line the baking tray -- the honey glaze caramelizes and sticks to a bare pan. Baste the salmon with the pooled glaze after the first 8 minutes. Thicker fillets may need the full 7 additional minutes. Leftovers keep in the fridge for up to 2 days.
